Our Society

The education aspect of The Flamenco Society is carried out by the Academy. Baile (dance) and Toque (guitar) classes are taught on a weekly basis at New Century Dance Studio, 1205 W el Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA. The Flamenco Society also does presentations at public and private schools to introduce the youth of our communities to the culture and music of Andalucia, Spain.

Our Juergas (Flamenco jam sessions) are showcase for established flamenco artists and for the students of The Flamenco Society. Juergas are presented at the Historic Hoover Theater in San Jose four times a year. The shows start at 7:00 PM and usually last until 10:00 PM. The price of admission is $15 - $25.

The Flamenco Society presents formal shows starring our own professional cuadro known as Flamenco Ole' along with National and International Flamencos. In the past we have presented Sabicas, Carlos Montoya, Juan Serrano, Jose Greco, Los Romeros, Luisillo, La Farruca, Vicente Amigo, Gerardo Nunez, Tomatito, Antonio Rey and many more.
